Summer 2023 Internship
Remote & in New York, NY

Description
We are looking for a summer intern with a go-getter spirit for learning business and finding solutions to problems. You will not go on coffee runs or file paperwork, but work directly with our founder, Michael Melissinos, on various projects. You will learn new skills and the work you do will have a direct impact on our investors.

The deadline to apply is May 31, 2023.

How the internship works
We are open to applicants from across the Americas, Africa and Europe. The internship is full time, on a 4-day week basis, and will run from June 5th – September 1st 2023.

Michael Melissinos works out of a home office, but also rents space at WeWork in the Tribeca neighborhood of New York City. You may choose to work remotely if you like, but we encourage you spend a day or two per week working in the office.

About you
There a few things we value in our interns:

  • You’re independent and self-motivated. We aren’t motivators. If you love to work, we’ll get along great and learn a lot. No one will be looking over your shoulder throughout the day either. You’ll have your projects and tasks for the day and be allowed to work.
  • You communicate and write clearly. We write a lot. We write about our investing approach, we write for our website and blog, we write to our social media followings and most importantly, we write to our investors. Clear and effective communication is essential to being successful at Melissinos Trading.
  • Non-traditional education. We aren’t uptight about you having an MBA or being on the path to a PhD. We value your ability to be resourceful, scrappy and finding better (and cheaper) ways to do things. Having some knowledge in Accounting and Excel (or other coding languages) is a plus.

About the job
The salary for this internship is $1,500 per 4-day week. If you live in the United States, your salary will be subject to payroll taxes. Applicants from outside the U.S. will be offered a contractor role at the same pay rate. Interns are not eligible for company benefits.

How to apply
We’d like you to tell us about yourself. We’d like to know why you want to be an intern at Melissinos Trading, what motivates you, what you like learning about and working on. Feel free to send us your blog, video channel, podcast or Github. Please include a brief resume but go into more detail in your cover letter.

We welcome people of all backgrounds to apply. We care more about your character and work ethic than your major, GPA or acronyms.

The deadline to apply is May 31, 2023.
